Why Nurses are amazing?

Somehow the first thing society thinks about when coming across a nurse is; whiping butts from older people, unintelligent people, gays and lesbians, lol…

It’s a job that still is marked with plenty of judgments and often unappreciated by people with poor brain functionality…

So let’s talk about this: Nurses tend to have the helping syndrome, it’s helping others over yourself. They’re working overtime a lot, they’re surrounded by sick, mental ill, dying human beings and they’ll often wear a mask, so the patients won’t see and feel the suffer they’re battling with. Also it’s not rare that they will come across sexual harassment during their time as a nurse and the excuse for this behavior often will be: “he suffers dementia”, – yes maybe… but it still must be one of the worst feelings ever…

Nurses will often skip clubbing, time out with their friends, family time, working at the weekend, holidays, six working days and more, so they can be there for the people in need. It’s beautiful and hard at the same time, especially if you’re giving all your heart, soul and energy for something that is poorly appreciated.

I was in my third apprenticeship year as an upcoming nurse in the hospital. Unfortunately I needed to abort it because I couldn’t handle the high stresslevel, toxicity and unsolved personal trauma of my past anymore. It can be a really tough time working as a nurse, not only because the way society looks at it, but also they way how your friends, family and co-workers will tell you things that aren’t necessary. And unfortunately they will be affected of hierarchy (doctors, higher graduated co-workers) that will look down to them and they will feel it by their talkings, behaviors and interpersonal communication…

So if you ever come across a nurse, appreciate them, respect them and show them your empathy and if you lack in empathy don’t tell them things that aren’t necessary, i mean they’re here when a new human being comes alive, when the soul or body is suffering and even after your soul leaves the body they will be there… If you’re reading this, being a nurse, I appreciate you, we appreciate you! 🙂
